Bharat Bandh: Opposition Stages Massive Protests Across India

Trinamool Congress, CPI and the Congress were among major opposition parties that launched a massive countrywide protest against demonetisation on Monday.

In Kolkata, the state’s Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee lead a massive rally, where she lashed out at the Centre over its hasty implementation of the currency ban.

The left too took out a protest rally in Kolkata, accusing the TMC of helping the BJP led central government.Similar protests erupted in Bihar’s Darbhanga , where the CPI staged a railroko agitation.

The Congress too observed ‘Jan Akrosh Divas’, protesting against the Centre’s decision to ban old currency notes worth Rs 1000 and Rs 500.
