BQPortfolio speaks to citizens from across India about their financial goals and helps them access expert advice on how to achieve them.

Most salaried employees prefer a reasonable break between jobs. A month would be ideal, but even a week would do. It helps clear the mind and reinvigorates them, so they can start work at a new place full of zest.

But Sachit Chawla, 25, is an exception. He’d like to take as much as a year off before he is 30 to travel through Europe and South America. He’s aware that it’s a risk because there’s no guarantee that he’ll be able to ease back into a job once he returns from his sabbatical, but his mind is made up.

On this episode of BQ Portfolio, Kiran Telang, a SEBI-registered investment adviser, tells Chawla how he can save the money he would need for his trans-continental sabbatical.
