Daan Utsav: Share The Joy Of Telling And Listening To Stories

Opportunities to volunteer and effect change, this Daan Utsav.

Tell-A-Story @ Daan Utsav is a simple opportunity for people to volunteer to record stories for children aged four to ten years. The stories may be recorded by anyone from their home, office, or even a park, in any Indian language, and are usually four to five minutes long. Stories inculcate values, learnings, and personal development in children of an impressionable age. However, not all children are fortunate enough to experience this basic joy of childhood. Through Tell A Story, iVolunteer is creating a digital library of stories in multiple languages and dialects that NGOs and schools working with children can access from anywhere. Tell A Story also creates a repository of folk stories from different communities and in different dialects which may be on the verge of getting lost.

For the volunteers, it is an opportunity to relive their childhood and helps put a smile on a child’s face! We already have young professionals, teenagers, homemakers, pairs of parent and child, and people from all walks of life contributing stories.

iVolunteer is India’s first and most trusted platform and service for volunteering. With a network of more than 500 credible NGOs and volunteer groups, iVolunteer enabled volunteers to choose opportunities to volunteer for a cause of their interest based on their time and location. Volunteers also get to choose between one-time, regular engagement, and skills-based projects with virtual volunteering being most popular of late.

For Daan Utsav 2021, iVolunteer aims to engage 20,000 volunteers through interesting projects that almost anyone can volunteer for. These are available on www.iVolunteer.in/daanutsav.
