Walmart Reshuffles Senior U.S. Executives in E-Commerce, Grocery
(Bloomberg) -- Walmart Inc. has shuffled some senior managers in its U.S. division, bringing fresh leadership to critical growth areas like e-commerce and food. Kieran Shanahan was promoted to senior vice president of e-commerce retail for everyday living, while Tom Ward was named senior vice president of digital operations, according to memos obtained by Bloomberg.
- Both Shanahan and Ward had helped expand the online grocery business in their previous roles. Walmart’s grocery segment makes up more than half its U.S. sales.
- The promotions mark the latest examples of a growing British presence in Walmart’s upper management ranks. Both began their careers at Walmart’s U.K. arm Asda.
- Walmart also named Andrea Albright senior vice president of snacks, beverage and impulse, replacing Al Dominguez, who is leaving the company after 12 years.
