National carrier Vietnam Airlines JSC evacuated an undisclosed number of Vietnamese from Wuhan, the Chinese city at the epicenter of the global coronavirus outbreak, during a flight authorized by the Vietnam government.

The plane landed Monday morning at Van Don airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh, the airline said in an email statement. The crew and passengers were transported to a quarantine zone, where they will be monitored with health checks for 14 days. The aircraft was disinfected and will be held out of service for 24 hours, Vietnam Airlines said.
