(Bloomberg) -- Verizon Communications Inc. says it has restored wireless phone service which had disrupted calling for some people in several parts of the country, including California and Washington.
The company identified a problem with its fiber optic network and it was resolved. “The majority of impacted customers should be seeing service as usual,” a Verizon spokesperson said in a statement.
The problems started shortly after 3 p.m. New York time, according to the level of customer complains reported by Downdetector, a network monitoring site.
