U.K.’s Prince Philip Leaves Hospital After Four Nights, PA Says

(Bloomberg) -- Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, left the King Edward VII hospital in London on Tuesday and returned to the U.K. monarch’s country home at Sandringham, Norfolk, to spend the holidays with his family.

ITV News footage showed the the 98-year-old prince, who is also known as the Duke of Edinburgh, walking unaided to a chauffeur-driven Land Rover as he left the hospital after his four-night stay.

“The Duke of Edinburgh has today left hospital after being discharged by his doctor and is now back at Sandringham,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement. “His Royal Highness would like to thank everyone who sent their good wishes.”

The Prince was admitted to the hospital for observation and treatment in relation to a pre-existing condition, the Queen’s office said on Friday.
