U.K.-Japan Post-Brexit Trade Talks Hit a Snag, FT Says

(Bloomberg) -- Japanese officials briefly considered canceling a round of trade talks scheduled for this week after receiving a letter from U.K. Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt and international trade secretary Liam Fox that said “time is of the essence” and both sides would be need to be flexible, the FT said.

The officials are said to believe the letter, which was sent Feb. 8, “reflected an increasingly high-handed approach from the British side,” the FT reported.
