The Trump Press Conference: Words Cannot Describe It, Can They?

(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump gave a freewheeling news conference yesterday. At least, that’s one word for it.

The Washington Post agreed, though other online stories from the Post allowed that it was a “marathon” and “insane.”

The Trump Press Conference: Words Cannot Describe It, Can They?

The 80-minute media show was memorable by any journalistic measurement. The president discussed serious matters of state, from Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s chances for confirmation to Nafta and the tariff war.

But Trump, clearly enjoying himself, also found time to throw shade on the father of his country, George Washington; speculate on China’s respect “for Donald Trump’s very, very large brain” and comment on the prowess of Kurdish militia fighters.

Thus, to the New York Times, the presser was “rambling and combative.” To USA Today, it was “bizarre.” For the Atlantic, the right descriptive was “surreal.” In case you missed it, these videos will let you judge for yourself.
