Thai Premier Says Democrats Must Decide If Staying in Government

(Bloomberg) -- Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha said it’s up to the Democrat Party to decide if it wants to remain in the ruling coalition he leads.

“I won’t interfere in their internal issues,” he said in a briefing in Bangkok on Tuesday, addressing recent speculation that the party is reassessing its place in the government.

The Democrat Party has about 50 seats in the ruling coalition that took office after a disputed general election last year. A pullout would leave Prayuth with a weakened, minority administration.
