Russia’s Biggest Broker Fires Equity Trading Head for Misconduct

(Bloomberg) --

Alexei Bachurin, the London-based head of equity trading at Russia’s biggest brokerage, was fired this week for gross misconduct, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

Bachurin, who joined BCS Global Markets in September, was dismissed after a month-long investigation, the person said Thursday, asking not to be identified because the information isn’t public. Bachurin was suspended after a claim from a third party, the person said earlier.

BCS confirmed that Bachurin no longer works at the brokerage but declined to comment on the reason for his departure. “Apart from increased media attention all our offices conduct business as usual in full compliance with their obligations under the regulatory system,” a spokesperson said in a text message.
