Quebec to Ban Sweet Pot Edibles Ahead of Next Legalization Phase

(Bloomberg) -- Quebec publishes draft regulation forbidding its cannabis stores from selling marijuana-based products such as desserts and chocolates when they become legal in Canada later this year.
- Says measures around new cannabis categories put in place by the federal government are insufficient for Quebec to meet its public safety goals
- Edible products sold by the Societe quebecoise du cannabis “may not be sweets, confectionery, dessert, chocolate or any other product attractive to minors:” draft
- Asks that concentration of THC in non-edible cannabis be no higher than 30%
- A “ distinguishable portion unit” of an edible cannabis product cannot contain more than 5 milligrams of THC;
