Qatar’s Sheikha Moza Denies Buying Ritz Hotel in London

(Bloomberg) -- The private office of Sheikha Moza bint Nasser Al Misnad denied a report in Britain’s Mail on Sunday newspaper that she’d purchased London’s Ritz Hotel.

A statement dated Monday described the story as “wholly untrue.” Neither Sheikha Moza, who is the wife of Qatar’s former ruler, “nor any entity in which she has an interest or with which she has any association had any involvement whatsoever in the recent acquisition of the Ritz,” according to the statement.

The Mail later removed the story originally published on April 5 from its website.

Billionaire twins David and Frederick Barclay sold the Ritz, which occupies a prime spot in the St James’ district of central London, earlier this year for less than 800 million pounds, Bloomberg reported last month.
