Qantas Passengers Evacuated After Hydraulic Issue With Plane
(Bloomberg) -- A Qantas Airways Ltd. flight was evacuated early Sunday after the plane turned back shortly after takeoff because of an hydraulic issue.
Flight QF575, which departed Sydney for Perth at 8:25 a.m. local time, returned to make a non-emergency landing, the airline said in a statement on its website.
“Once back at the gate, the captain made the decision to evacuate the aircraft as a precaution and three emergency slides were deployed,” Qantas said. “Passengers were evacuated through both the slides and normal exits.“
Engineers are inspecting the Airbus A330-200 aircraft and more information will be made available shortly, it said.
