Portugal to Require Tests for Passengers From Non-EU Countries

(Bloomberg) -- Portugal said all passengers arriving from non-European Union countries have to present negative PCR or antigen tests if they don’t have a EU digital certificate that indicates testing or recovery from Covid-19.

Arrivals from EU countries that are considered low or moderate risk can show a digital certificate indicating vaccination, testing or recovery from Covid-19, the government said in an emailed statement on Tuesday. The requirements take effect on Dec. 1.

• The government had said on Nov. 25 that negative Covid-19 tests would be required for all flights arriving in Portugal from Dec. 1.
• People who work within 30 kilometers of the land border with Spain, as well as providers of services such as goods and passenger transport, can present a digital certificate indicating either vaccination, testing or recovery from Covid-19.
