NYC Saw 200,000 Residents Vote Over Weekend, De Blasio Says

New York City saw nearly 200,000 residents vote early over the weekend, Mayor Bill de Blasio said.

People came out in unprecedented numbers, and the board of elections “clearly was not prepared for this turnout,” de Blasio said on Monday.

“Long lines tell people to go home,” the mayor said. He called on the elections board to add voting machines and staff and expand their hours.

De Blasio said he and his wife plan to vote tomorrow.
