Norway Finds First Suspected Cases of Omicron Variant, TV2 Says

Norway has uncovered its first three suspected cases of the new omicron virus variant, TV2 reported, citing a municipal chief medical officer.

The positive test results from Ullensaker, just outside the capital, have been sent for sequencing, which could take several days, the broadcaster said.

The development comes as Norway tightened rules on isolation for people testing positive for Covid-19 and advised people return to using face masks again on public transport and in shops to prevent the spread of the virus.
