Nike Elevates CFO to Operating Chief as Part of Reshuffle

(Bloomberg) -- Nike Inc. promoted Chief Financial Officer Andy Campion to operating chief and named a new president of its consumer division, marking the first major shake-up for new Chief Executive Officer John Donahoe.

Campion is succeeding Eric Sprunk, who is retiring from the company, Nike said on Tuesday. Matthew Friend, currently CFO of a Nike division, will now take that title at the corporate level. Heidi O’Neill, head of the company’s direct business, will become president of consumer and marketplace operations.

Sprunk was once part of a cadre of Nike executives in line to replace longtime CEO Mark Parker. But the company decided to pick a chief from the outside: Donahoe, who previously ran EBay Inc. and ServiceNow Inc., took the helm last month.

O’Neill is taking over the consumer job from Elliott Hill, who is retiring, Nike said. She will lead Nike’s global sales and its direct-to-consumer operations. Campion, meanwhile, will oversee Nike’s technology, manufacturing and supply chain. The changes happen on April 1.

“Heidi and Andy’s leadership has been instrumental in both evolving and driving Nike’s strategy over the last decade,” Donahoe said in a statement. “In their new roles, we will see them have even greater impact.”
