New York to Get Food Trucks to Clean Up by Posting Their Grades

(Bloomberg) -- New York’s "dirty water" hot dog vendors may need to clean up their act.

The city’s health department on Friday said the 5,500 food carts and trucks that work New York’s streets will have to display letter grades, from A to C, judging their compliance with food-safety laws, just as restaurants have done since 2010. The new rule takes effect next month, kicking off a citywide inspection process that will take two years.
