New York’s Football Teams Are No Fun: Fantasy Football Weekly

New York’s football teams haven’t given their fans much to cheer for or provided many options for fantasy football success this year.

The Giants and Jets have combined for no wins and six losses through the first three weeks of the season. If you’re looking for explosive offenses, you won’t find them in the Meadowlands. The New York squads’ offenses are both averaging less than 13 points per game, the lowest tallies in the National Football League. If the two Big Apple teams combined their offensive scoring outputs, they’d still be scoring fewer points per game than more than half the teams in the league. The best way to approach the Giants and Jets for fantasy purposes is to play whatever defense they’re going up against that week.

All of that said, one Giant player might have value this week.

We won’t be going for obvious picks like Lamar Jackson. Instead, we’re looking for value: players who we think will beat their projected output for the week (using the PPR scoring format).

But first, here’s a recap of how our picks did last week:

Bulls

QB: Matthew Stafford: (Actual 18.5, Proj. 18)

WR: Allen Robinson: (Actual 28.3, Proj. 16.5)

TE: Zach Ertz: (Actual 14, Proj. 13.5)

Bears

QB: Mitchell Trubisky: (Actual 12.62, Proj. 16.7)

RB: Kenyan Drake: (Actual 8.9, Proj. 15.9)

RB: Joshua Kelley: (Actual 5.2, Proj. 9.7)

WR: CeeDee Lamb: (Actual 11.6, Proj. 11.7)

TE: T.J. Hockenson: (Actual 9.3, Proj. 11.4)

Week Four Value Picks

QB: Ryan Fitzpatrick: The Dolphins play a Seahawks team averaging 37 points a game. That means Fitzpatrick will be throwing a ton. (Projected for 18.7 points)

QB: Matt Ryan: Expecting the Packers to put up at least 35 on the Falcons, who have given up 108 points in three games. Ryan will be playing catch up. (19.6 points)

RB: Joe Mixon: Has been a major disappointment. If there’s a week for the Bengals running back to break out it’s this one against the Jaguars who are giving up 116 rushing yards a game. (16.4 points)

RB: Darrell Henderson: Emerged as the Rams lead back because of injuries and has responded. Registered a rushing TD in each of the last two games and gets the Giants this week. (11.5 points)

WR: DeVante Parker: As mentioned above, expecting the Dolphins to be playing from behind against the Seahawks and throwing the football a lot. Seattle is giving up a league worst 430 yards a game passing. (15 points)

WR: Allen Lazard: The Packers Receiver is coming off a breakout game against the Saints and gets the Falcons defense, which is the second worst in the league this year by yards allowed. (12.3 points)

TE: Evan Engram: The Giants tight end only has 11 catches this year. But he could be a safety valve for Daniel Jones as Big Blue tries to keep up with the Rams. (10.5 points)

TE: Hayden Hurst: The Falcons are banged up at wide receiver and Hurst could see some extra targets against the high-scoring Packers. (10.4 points)
