Muddy Waters Wants to Debate Elon Musk on Merits of Shortselling
(Bloomberg) -- On Friday, short-seller Muddy Waters Research reiterated an offer made a day earlier to publicly debate Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk on the merits of short selling.
. @elonmusk I'm re-upping this offer. We could debate to help raise some money for a charitable cause. We can do it at an existing event, and we can stay away from discussing $TSLA. Just your perspective vs mine on whether short selling is helpful / harmful to markets.

Muddy Waters made the initial offer late on Thursday after Musk criticized the practice of short-selling repeatedly on Twitter.
Care for a public debate on the merits of short selling? Serious offer.

Muddy Waters Twitter account specifically responded to Musk’s assertion that short-sellers are value destroyers.
Exactly. Short-sellers are value destroyers. Should definitely be illegal.

Musk has yet to respond to Muddy Water’s offer.
