Brewers Game Postponed After Positive Cardinals Covid Test

(Bloomberg) -- Friday’s home opener game for the Milwaukee Brewers against the St. Louis Cardinals is postponed, Wisconsin radio station WTMJ-AM reports, tying the postponement to two positive coronavirus tests within the Cardinals organization.
- The teams could still play Saturday and Sunday if all Cardinal players test negative beforehand, WTMJ says, citing unnamed sources
- The teams were scheduled to play Friday without fans in Milwaukee’s Miller Park
- Sports gaming companies fell on the news. DraftKings fell as much as 3.7% and Penn National was down 6.9%. In Europe, Flutter fell to session lows, dropping 1.8%
- Mark Saxon, MLB reporter with The Athletic, says in a tweet that two Cardinals players tested positive
- ESPN also confirms the postponement, according to ESPN reporter Jeff Passan in a tweet. WFAN radio reporter Jon Heyman also reports the postponement in a tweet.
