(Bloomberg) -- Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.’s motion picture group president, Jonathan Glickman, will step down in February and shift into a producer role for the company.

He’ll be succeeded by Michael De Luca, a veteran producer and former studio executive, who was named MGM’s motion picture group chairman.

Glickman ran the film unit for eight years and oversaw the James Bond franchise, including “Skyfall” and “Spectre.” He’ll continue to supervise completion of the latest installment in the British spy series, “No Time to Die,” which is scheduled for release in April, the company said Friday in a memo to staff.

MGM has been rebuilding since emerging from bankruptcy in 2010 under a new investor group. It signed a deal in 2017 to jointly distribute movies with Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures. Chief Executive Officer Gary Barber was unexpectedly ousted in 2018 over differences with Chairman Kevin Ulrich.

During Glickman’s tenure, the company relaunched the Orion Pictures brand and brought in new filmmakers and actors, including Ryan Coogler, Cary Fukunaga and Michael B. Jordan.

De Luca is a prolific producer who has been nominated for three Academy Awards for “The Social Network,” “Moneyball” and “Captain Phillips.”
