Man Accused of Fraud While Serving Prison Term for Fraud

(Bloomberg) -- Credit Keith Fisher for being consistent.

The 62-year-old Philadelphia resident was charged Wednesday with trying to defraud companies by bidding on government contracts and then not paying the vendors who fulfilled those deals. Prosecutors allege Fisher began the fraud while serving a 60-month prison term for doing exactly the same thing -- defrauding 40 businesses out of $1 million.

The new mail-fraud count carries a maximum potential penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, the U.S. Attorney for the district of New Jersey, said in a statement Wednesday.
