Jury in Arbery Killing Trial Reviews Video of Deadly Encounter

Jurors deliberating in the trial of three White men charged with murdering Ahmaud Arbery while the 25-year-old unarmed Black man was running through their neighborhood last year reviewed mobile-phone video of the deadly encounter on the second day of deliberations.

Superior Court Judge Timothy Walmsley in Brunswick, Georgia, on Wednesday allowed the jury to watch two version of the footage three times each, and listen to the 911 call made by one of the defendants.

The video, shot by William “Roddie” Bryan, shows Arbery being confronted by Travis McMichael and his father, Greg McMichael, followed by a struggle and three blasts from a shotgun. The panel of 11 White jurors and one person of color previously viewed the footage when it was presented as evidence during a two-week trial.
