Jes Staley Resigns as Bowdoin College Trustee Over Epstein Ties

Jes Staley, who resigned Monday as chief executive officer of Barclays Plc, has also stepped down from the board of Bowdoin College, his alma mater.

“We are grateful to Jes for his many years of devoted service,” Scott Hood, a spokesman for the school in Brunswick, Maine, said in an emailed statement.

Staley, who had been on the board since 2007, is leaving London-based Barclays after U.K. regulators shared their preliminary findings of a probe into what he told the bank’s board about his relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
