Italy Set to Extend Containment Measures Until Easter at Least

(Bloomberg) -- Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza said the government is set to extend current containment measures for the coronavirus outbreak until Easter at least, according to an e-mailed statement.

A meeting of the scientific committee Monday gave that recommendation, Speranza said. Italy reported the smallest number of new coronavirus cases in almost two weeks Monday, with health authorities saying that restrictions shouldn’t be eased yet.

The current deadline for the restrictions is April 3.
