Iran Supreme Leader Says ‘Let’s Not Exaggerate’ Coronavirus

(Bloomberg) -- Iran’s supreme leader downplayed the severity of coronavirus even after the country reported the highest number of cases on Tuesday.

“The coronavirus won’t affect the country for long & will leave,” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Twitter on Tuesday.

Iran reported 835 new cases on Tuesday, bringing the total to 2,336 as well as 11 new deaths, bringing the fatalities to 77.
