Hungary Posts Second Highest Monthly Deficit on Pension Boost
(Bloomberg) -- Hungary’s November government deficit was at the second highest ever, driven by a pension increase the administration claims is needed to boost the economy.
The increase added 250 billion forint to the deficit in November, the Finance Ministry said on Wednesday. Yet critics say the spending spree is part of the government’s drive to win re-election next spring.
