Hot Days Ahead by Weekend With Quick Flip for NY, Washington
(Bloomberg) -- Ready for a relatively quick turnaround? Temperatures in the 30s and low 40s could be forgotten by next weekend with New York reaching 79 degrees on Saturday and 86 in Washington.
On Tuesday, the mercury in New York could fall to 42 degrees Fahrenheit (5.5 Celsius) while Boston could hit 38 degrees, according to Brian Hurley, a senior branch forecaster at the U.S. Weather Prediction Center. Freeze and frost advisories were splotchy across the central and eastern U.S., reaching the Ohio Valley, western New York and Virginia’s Appalachian region, the National Weather Service said.
“The pattern looks like it is going to flip a little bit, but it is going to take a little while to get there,” Hurley said. “We still have to get through a couple of more days of record lows.”
