Holland America Says Hawaii Declined Disembarkation at Honolulu

(Bloomberg) -- Passengers on Holland America Line Inc.’s Maasdam cruise have not been allowed to disembark at Honolulu, exception for six Hawaii residents and two other U.S. citizens for medical reasons, the company said in a Twitter post.

The Maasdam’s new departure time and a point for disembarkation is still being finalized.

In an earlier post, the cruise operator said that Maasdam was able to refuel and take on provisions at Honolulu.

Holland America Line is owned by Miami-based cruising giant Carnival Corp. Its Princess and Costa cruise divisions were among those hit by coronavirus outbreaks. More than 700 people came down the virus while sailing on a Princess ship off Japan and were quarantined.
