Guaido Arrives at Colombia Benefit Concert, Defying Maduro Travel Ban

(Bloomberg) -- Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido arrived at a benefit concert on the Colombian side of the border, accompanied by the presidents of Colombia and Chile.

Colombian TV broadcast images of Guaido crossing a bridge connecting the two countries on foot, in defiance of a travel ban imposed by the government of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

The concert is taking place in the Colombian border city of Cucuta, a few hundred meters from where more than 190 tons of humanitarian aid is stockpiled for delivery tomorrow. Guaido is in Colombia to oversee the relief effort, which is intended to ease shortages and pressure Maduro.

Guaido is recognized as Venezuela’s legal president by more than 30 countries, including the U.S.
