Global Shocks Put Swift Euro-Area Economy Rebound at Risk
(Bloomberg) -- The euro-area economy is entering a more difficult phase of its recovery, according to Bloomberg Economics. The easy initial gains from last year’s slump have now been banked and hurdles lie ahead: A series of international supply shocks are lifting inflation, which could weigh on real spending and stymie industry. Against that backdrop, the European Central Bank is facing a heated debate on the future of asset purchases in December.
