Ghana Sets Aside $100 Million to Prepare to Combat Coronavirus

Ghana set aside the cedi equivalent of $100 million to enhance its preparedness and response plans against the spread of coronavirus.

The West African nation is putting measures in place to counter the economic fallout of the global pandemic, President Nana Akufo-Addo said in a television broadcast on Thursday.

Ghana is yet to record a confirmed case of the virus after 57 people suspected of having the diseases tested negative. Immediate neighbors including Togo, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso have confirmed cases.
