Gadhia Withdraws From BOE Appointment on Taking Salesforce Job

(Bloomberg) -- Jayne-Anne Gadhia has withdrawn from her appointment to the Bank of England’s Financial Policy Committee after becoming the U.K. and Ireland chief executive at Salesforce.

Gadhia, who was the CEO of Virgin Money from 2007 to 2018, had been due to start her role on the FPC in April 2020, but her new job “would mean she would not be able to commit the necessary time required to serve,” the Treasury said in a statement Tuesday. The Treasury will launch a new appointment process in due course, it said.

“We are of course sorry that Jayne-Anne Gadhia won’t be taking up her role as an external member on the Financial Policy Committee,” a BOE spokesman said. “We fully understand her decision and wish her well for the future.”
