(Bloomberg) -- Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said the state would welcome all professional sports for practice and games, including out-of-state teams facing stricter restrictions in their home jurisdictions.
“All professional sports are welcome here for practicing and playing,” DeSantis told reporters Wednesday in Tallahassee.
He said an official announcement on sports was coming soon.
DeSantis started reopening most parts of Florida last week after the coronavirus shutdown, allowing restaurants and retail to renew operations under certain conditions. So far, the reopening has excluded Miami-Dade and Broward counties, the hardest hit and most populous regions, but those counties may reopen as soon as next week.
