Masked Intruders Attack Finnish Warehouse Near Nokia HQ

(Bloomberg) -- Finnish police secured a chemicals storage facility near Nokia Oyj’s headquarters just outside Helsinki after masked intruders entered the warehouse.

The intruders have left the site, according to a message posted on Twitter by West Uusimaa police. The site houses the headquarters of Algol Oy, and lies just 200 meters (700 feet) from Nokia.

“We were attacked,” Algol Chief Executive Officer Alexander Bargum said by phone. “There were several perpetrators, but we know very little about what they were after.”

The incident happened near Algol’s warehouse, where some other companies also store goods, and it’s possible the attack targeted one of them, Bargum said. No one was seriously injured, he said.

Calls to Nokia’s press office weren’t immediately returned.
