Fantasy Football Weekly: So You Didn’t Make the Fantasy Playoffs

(Bloomberg) -- So you didn’t make the playoffs. Maybe it was because you spent your top pick on one of the many running backs -- Saquon Barkley, David Johnson, Le’Veon Bell and James Conner come to mind -- who were all fantasy busts. Maybe your quarterback was Ben Roethlisberger who suffered a season-ending injury and immediately took down the value of wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster with him. Or maybe you suffered through weeks of injuries with Davante Adams, Adam Thielen, T.Y. Hilton or Drew Brees.

Whatever your excuse, all isn’t lost if you didn’t have the season you wanted. There’s still weekly fantasy games to keep you busy and we’ll continue to be here throughout the rest of the season giving you value picks. The selections are based on a points per reception league. Before we get to our Week 14 selections, let’s recap last week’s plays.

Week 14 Value Picks

QB: Kirk Cousins: The Vikings quarterback has been one of the more underrated fantasy quarterbacks this season. He also gets the Lions, third worst defense against the pass in the league.

QB: Jacoby Brissett: The Colts quarterback faces Tampa Bay, the second worst pass defense in the league.

QB: Carson Wentz: Let’s continue to play quarterbacks against the horrendous Giants defense, which has given up the fourth most points per game in the league.

RB: Sony Michel: This Pats running back has killed my own fantasy team. But we’ll give him another chance against the Chiefs, the third worst team in the league against the run.

RB: Melvin Gordon: The Chargers running back goes up against the Jaguars, who have been getting shredded on the ground lately. Jacksonville has given up nine rushing touchdowns over the past three weeks.

RB: Alexander Mattison: Even if his teammate Dalvin Cook suits up, look for Mattison to get extra carries in a blow-out win against the Lions.

WR: Zach Pascal: Teammate T.Y. Hilton may miss another game due to injury. He’s coming off a 100 yard receiving game and gets the Bucs this week.

WR: Jamison Crowder: Expect Sam Darnold and company to put up points against the Dolphins.

WR: Allen Lazard: Coming off a 100 yard, 1 TD game against the Giants. He gets another poor pass secondary this week in the Redskins.

TE: Mike Gesicki: The Dolphins tight end is becoming an integral part of the Dolphins passing attack.
