Fantasy Football Weekly: Playing the Ageless Larry Fitzgerald

(Bloomberg) -- And then there were two. There are only two undefeated teams in the NFL, the Super Bowl Champion Patriots and the surprising San Francisco 49ers. We also have four winless teams: the Jets, Bengals, Redskins and Dolphins. Two of those squads, Miami and Washington, will play each other this week. I like someone in that game, but more on that later in the column. As a general rule each week, I look for high scoring games or contests involving weak defenses.

Before we get to our Week 6 selections, let’s recap last week’s picks. Reminder: We look for value plays, not the obvious FAANG Stocks of Fantasy, like Patrick Mahomes. The picks are based on a points per reception league.

Week 5 Value Plays

QB: Kyler Murray: Going with the rookie once again. His opponent, the Falcons, have given up more than 100 points in three road games this year. This should be one of the highest scoring games of the week.

QB: Kyle Allen: Offenses have feasted against Tampa Bay lately. The Bucs have given up 8 touchdown passes the last three weeks. Expect Tampa to stack the box against Christian McCaffrey, giving Allen plenty of chances to throw deep.

RB: Sony Michel: Play the Patriots back once again, and look for the Pats to have a big lead and keep the ball on the ground against the Giants.

RB: Mark Ingram: The Ravens will run often against the winless Bengals. Looking for a score or two from Ingram.

RB: Adrian Peterson: Washington’s Interim Head Coach Bill Callahan says he wants to run the ball more. Peterson may get plenty of chances to do just that against the Miami Dolphins. The veteran running back could have a big game.

RB: Duke Johnson: The Texans-Chiefs game may be the highest scoring game of the week. The pass catching back could see a lot of dump-offs from quarterback Deshaun Watson.

WR: Curtis Samuel: If Panthers quarterback Kyle Allen throws it deep, Samuel will be the recipient.

WR: Stefon Diggs: Last week, it was his fellow unhappy wideout Adam Thielen, who got the targets. Look for Diggs to get his share against the Eagles, who are very tough against the run.

WR: Golden Tate: The Giants are banged up team without Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram. Look for Tate to get a ton of targets with the Giants playing from behind.

WR: Larry Fitzgerald: The Cardinals wide receiver should have a big game against a secondary that was torched by Houston for more than 400 yards passing last week.

TE: Austin Hooper: The Falcons tight end is having a good year, and should have a another good game against the weak Cardinals defense.
