Charlie Ergen Says Banks Willing to Lend $10 Billion for New Network

(Bloomberg) -- Charlie Ergen, the chairman of pay-TV provider Dish Network Corp., said his company has received “highly confident” letters from banks on $10 billion in loans to build a network for his new wireless phone venture.

Ergen began testifying Tuesday in New York at an antitrust trial brought by states that oppose T-Mobile US Inc.’s purchase of Sprint Corp., which was approved by U.S. regulators with the condition that they sell certain assets to Dish to create a rival carrier.
