Denmark Bans Public Investments in Foreign Fossil Fuel Projects

Denmark will ban from next year public investments and government subsidies for fossil fuel projects outside of its own borders.

The Danish government will work with international partners to get other countries to follow suit, the climate and energy ministry said in a statement on Wednesday. A few projects, including some related to natural gas, will be exempted from the ban until 2025, the Copenhagen-based ministry said.
