Colliers Canada Is Seeking a Potential Successor for Its CEO

(Bloomberg) -- Colliers International Group Inc. is looking to hire a potential successor for chief executive officer David Bowden.

The real estate services firm is searching for a chief operating officer for Canada, according to a statement provided to Bloomberg by email. “Bowden is considering this role as a potential successor for his role as CEO Colliers in Canada.” The transition could be a “multi-year process” and no immediate date has been considered, according to the statement.

The Vancouver-based firm said it has been working with an external executive search firm to help them recruit the candidate for the role. Bowden, 61, has been at the company for more than three decades, becoming CEO of the Canadian operations about 10 years ago, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The move comes amid a shift among many Canadian brokerages. Jones Lang LaSalle Inc.’s Canada CEO Brett Miller announced that he will leave the firm to become CEO at Montreal-based developer, Canderel, next month. CBRE Ltd. Canada’s Werner Dietl took over as CEO on Jan 1., replacing Mark Renzoni.
