(Bloomberg) -- The U.K. is currently in the throes of its eighth recession in 65 years and if history is any guide, it will inflict long term damage. A look at the last seven downturns suggests the economy has often been left scarred, with permanent damage especially likely following deeper troughs. That bodes ill for the current recession, according to Bloomberg Economics.
