BOE Spectrometer Shows Divisions Over December Rate Hike

(Bloomberg) -- Bloomberg Economics expects the Bank of England to start raising interest rates in December, five months earlier than previously envisaged. Still, a look at the BOE Spectrometer suggests the vote to increase borrowing costs is unlikely to be unanimous. While Governor Andrew Bailey has sounded the alarm over an early rate hike, Catherine Mann and Silvana Tenreyro have signaled they’re in no rush to raise rates.
