Bloomingdale’s Is Closing Stores Nationwide Through End of March

(Bloomberg) -- Bloomingdale’s, the luxury department store owned by Macy’s Inc., temporarily closed its doors to its Manhattan store, with the rest of its stores to follow, becoming the latest retailer to do so to contain the coronavirus outbreak.

  • “In response to the challenges of COVID-19 we find it necessary to modify our hours at this store,” according to a statement posted on the retailer’s website for the Manhattan 59th Street location. “As always, the health & safety of our customers & colleagues is our top priority. We thank you for your patience.”
  • A spokesperson for the department store chain said all its stores nationwide will be closed by the end of today and remain closed through the end of this month.
