Biggest Quake in 5 Years Causes Damage In Australia’s Melbourne

An earthquake has caused damaged to buildings in Australia’s second most-populous city, Melbourne. 

The magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck 38 kilometers south of Mount Buller in the country’s south east, according to the U.S Geological Survey. The quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers.

Video footage emerged on Twitter showing building rubble on Melbourne’s Chapel St, a popular restaurant and nightclub area about 5 kilometers southeast of the central business district.
