Austria's Kurz Rules Out Renegotiation of Brexit Treaty

(Bloomberg) -- Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz ruled out new negotiations with the U.K. about the agreement to leave the European Union, offering only tweaks to a political declaration about the future ties between the two sides.

“The Austrian government’s but also the European Union’s message to London is clear: our hand is extended for a common solution, also for clarifications on the issue of the future relationship if that’s what it takes,” Kurz told journalists after the weekly government meeting in Vienna. “But we’re not ready to renegotiate the exit agreement.”

Kurz said his cabinet approved a draft omnibus law to cover contingency measures necessary if the U.K. crashes out of the EU without an exit treaty agreement.
