Assange Extradition Fight Delayed While Lawyer Tested for Covid

Julian Assange’s extradition fight was delayed until Monday after a prosecution lawyer was suspected of being exposed to Covid-19, the judge said.

Hearings, which have been running this week, will be put on hold while the lawyer is tested for the virus, Judge Vanessa Baraitser said Thursday.

Assange, the WikiLeaks founder, is fighting his extradition to the U.S. on charges that he endangered national security by conspiring to obtain and disclose classified information.

The hearings are expected to continue for four weeks.
