Amazon Contract Drivers Around U.S. Say Routing App Is Down

Amazon.com Inc. contract delivery drivers around the U.S. on Wednesday reported the Amazon Flex app that assigns them routes is down, a rare hiccup in the online retail giant’s shipping operation.

Drivers in Michigan, California, Texas, Illinois, Washington and Massachusetts reported issues on internet forums, indicating the problem is widespread. Instead of seeing possible routes, drivers opening the app get a red error screen telling them “We’re having difficulty syncing information from your device. Please try again.”

Flex drivers use their own cars to deliver packages for Amazon and its Whole Foods Market chain.

Amazon didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
