Denver Airport Reopens After Blizzard Shutdown: Officials

All Denver Runways Closed After Weekend Blizzard, Airport Says

Denver International Airport re-opened after being closed for more than 24 hours by a blizzard that covered the airfield in 27.1 inches of snow, officials said.

Snow has closed the airport, the nation’s largest at 35 square miles, just four times since it opened in 1995, public information officer Emily Williams said by telephone.

Arrivals and departures resumed at about 2 p.m. Denver time, Williams said.
